First Ever Nashville Weekend Slumber Party
Renee Martin, of “Simply Beautiful Inside and Out,” along with Judy
Randall, owner of Eye Candy Salon, treated the Nashville girls to a
special time this weekend. Renee approached Mercy Ministries® about
doing a special slumber party with the girls. She wanted the
weekend to be a fun time of pampering including: manicures,
pedicures, haircuts and color, and massage. The Mercy residents
were very excited to experience some of these services for the very
first time.
Although there were many things planned, Renee started the weekend
off with prayer and praise and worship: We are so thankful to be
here this weekend. "It is our prayer that you will come to see the
beauty of who you are as God sees you. As we have fun enhancing our
outer beauty, we will magnify the Lord with our inner beauty" --
Renee.
On Friday night, the slumber party was host to Jordan Pruitt, 15
year-old, up and coming pop sensation signed by Disney, who shared
her love of God and commitment to staying the straight course no
matter what fame might throw her way. She came dressed in her
pajamas and sang several of her original songs that got the girls
on their feet dancing to the music.
Also on Friday night, Renee taught the girls about having beautiful
hands and feet that serve God. Then the Nashville residents chose
their salon services for the next day and had chocolate desserts
and coffee as a special treat.
On Saturday, the girls had an eight-hour beauty marathon that
included manicures, pedicures, hair cuts and massage services. All
of the beauty services and beauty tips were linked to Bible verses
and lessons that stress inner and outer beauty for women. The
Nashville residents really had an excellent time of beauty and
fellowship and felt very pampered.
“I feel so honored that these people came and ministered to us in
the way they did. They taught us not only about our inner beauty
but also really fun make-up and hair tips! This weekend was so much
fun! Those women really know how to have a sleepover!” – Becky
“I was treated like such a princess all weekend! Plus, having “no
rules” rocked! I got six inches cut off my hair and I’ve never been
so happy with the results!” – Karrie
“This was such an amazing time! I learned so much about not only
God, but also myself. I look up to Renee and Judy so much for
giving up their time to do this for Mercy Ministries. It really
touched my heart!” -- Jillian

'Not-So-Extreme Makeover' for One Nashville Resident
Renee Martin of Renee Martin Ministries and Judy Randall of premier
Nashville salon, Eye Candy, blessed the girls at Mercy Ministries®
in Nashville on Friday with hair, makeup, and beauty tips as well
as a special makeover for one resident.
Bethany was chosen by her fellow residents who voted almost
unanimously for her to receive the makeover.
Before any hair was cut or makeup applied, everyone affirmed
Bethany by sharing their thoughts on her inner beauty and examples
of her sweet personality. Some commented on her kindness and gentle
nature while others recalled Bethany’s friendliness in always going
to sit with someone who’s alone or talk to someone when no one else
would. Bethany was touched by all the thoughtful words that were
shared and the awarding of her makeover.
From her new haircut by Judy Randall to having her eyebrows shaped
and makeup applied by Renee Martin, Bethany’s outward makeover is
only part of the story. One staff member described Bethany’s
experience as an “outward transformation to reflect her inward
change by allowing herself to grow into the beautiful woman God
created her to be.” She was also reminded of Ephesians 4:23-24
where is says, “To be made new in the attitude of your minds; and
to put on the new self, created to be like God in true
righteousness and holiness.”
Bethany’s makeover is a preview of “A Spiritual Pajama Party” that
Renee Martin is planning to have at Mercy Ministries in Nashville.
In Renee’s ministry “Simply Beautiful Inside Out,” she shares the
tips and tricks of the trade while applying Biblical
principles.
